Frequently Asked Questions

I have completed my Orientation and PLP and have not heard from my advisor. What is the delay?

First, did you contact the Administration to notify them of having completed your Orientation and PLP? You will not hear from your advisor until you notify the Administration of the completion of these 2 items. If you've notified the Administration, be sure to follow-up with the Administration if you do not hear back from your advisor within 48 hours (this does not include weekends and holidays since the school is closed during this time).

You must send your notification to: Admin@Northwestern-Email.com

Be sure to include a SUBJECT line in all of your emails to the school. If you do not include a subject line in your email communication, it will be deleted without opening.

Where do I submit my transcripts and will Northwestern accept credits earned at non-accredited schools or programs?

In most cases, once it is evaluated, we will allow for non-accredited course credits to be transferred as long as it is compatible to the course of study necessary for your degree program. We would encourage that you submit all of your transcripts for consideration by using any of the following 3 methods:

1. Email: Admin@Northwestern-Email.com

2. Fax your transcripts to: 727-859-1956

3. Postal Mail:

Christian Educational Services
Attn: Northwestern Administration

Spring Hill, FL 34609

How long do I have to complete each course?

You will work at a pace that is comfortable to you. The average time taken to complete each course is 30 to 45 days. We do recommend that you make an effort to schedule some time for your studies. Whether 1 or 2 hours or more per week, or whatever amount of time you can faithfully set aside without interrupting your normal schedule, you will find that you will complete your courses within a good time frame.

Although you work on your course at your own pace, each course has a 3 month activation time alloted. You may complete the course at anytime prior to the activation time. If you do not complete your course within the alloted 3 months, your NTSMoodle will be placed on "inactive" status. You will then need to request a reactivation and pay a fee of $10.00 US which will provide you with an additional 30 days to complete the course. If you fail to complete the course within the 30 day extension, you will again be placed in inactive status. You will be required to request a second reactivation request. The request will be reviewed by the Administration and if approved, you will then need to pay a fee of $50.00 and be placed on academic probation.

Who do I contact with questions during my time with Northwestern?

Your student advisor is there to answer any questions you may have with regards to your program, administrative issues, and financial issues. The advisor will lead you in staying within the course parameter. You should keep your advisor updated as to your current status. You can also contact the administration office if for any reason you are unable to contact your advisor.

How do I submit completed course work and how long does it take to receive a grade?

Course work that is completed is submitted using the current course submission procedure found in the main page of the NTSMoodle. When the advisor receives notification of your submission, he/she will begin reviewing your work for course grading. Grading can take some time, as it depends on the time of the month that the work is received. Once you submit your work, continue on to the next assignment. Do not wait to hear from your Advisor with regards to your graded paper. Think of it as end of semester grades. Grades are normally provided within 1 to 2 weeks. However, at certain times it may take longer if the systems are being updated and/or modified. If you need additional keys for your next courses, notify your advisor or send an email to the administration at: Admin@Northwestern-Email.com

How is my thesis or dissertation graded (for Graduate Programs only)?

Thesis and dissertations are to be sent to your advisor, after the thesis/dissertation proposal has been approved. Thesis and dissertations that are completed and receive a passing grade will be accepted as fulfillment of the course requirement. A communication will be sent to the student with a grade for their work. Students are no longer required to mail by postal a hard copy of the final thesis/dissertation work.

Where do I obtain my textbooks?

For the most part, the Northwestern student will not need to purchase textbooks. The required assigned textbooks are found within the NTSMoodle Courses.

For research the student may utilize personal books, books from a library, or online references. The Student Library located at www.ntslibrary.com also has a variety of resources and books, free of charge for the student.

Note: Some students would prefer to use hardcover books for their coursework instead of PDF books. This is accepted as long as the book chosen is compatible to the course and the book has been approved by the Student Advisor.

How can I find out the balance of my student financial account?

Students may view their payment history and balance from the NTSMoodle Online Student File, once logged in to the NTSMoodle, in the Student Account block.

When do I receive my degrees, once I've completed my program?

Degrees are awarded and mailed within 30 to 45 days after all academic course requirements have been met, and the full balance of the Love Offer has been paid. Both of these requirements must be met in order to receive your degrees. For Combination Programs, if the first program is completed and the Love Offer amount paid in full, you can request that the first completed degree be issued.
